Foolish heart

Foolish heart

Thou are ancient and weather-beaten

Now look what all the moths have eaten

Since it seems I've lost all reason

Keeping you feels like treason

to this foolish heart

I'll just throw it out

Then regret every word that came spilling out my mouth

Especially the ones all tinged with doubt

Wish I could get another

Foolish heart

made me stop believing in

a love that exists in present tense

or isn't chalked up to loneliness

just coincidence

Wish they'd mend the fence

around you

Foolish heart
